Commit to ten!

June 1st, 2016 by Live Well Omaha Kids

School is almost out for summer! Warmer weather and summer break make for a great time to challenge kids and families to move more.

Live Well Omaha Kids encourages kids to get in one hour or more of physical activity a day. We know that only 1 in 3 children is physically active each day.

To spread the word about the lack of physical activity across the country, our friends at the Alliance for a Healthier Generation launched #Commit2Ten, a campaign challenging the nation to add 10 more minutes of physical activity a day.

How would you add 10 more minutes of physical activity to your day? In addition to yoga, I’ve decided to park my car farther away when I visit a store, take the stairs over the elevator when I have the option, and go on neighborhood walks with my husband.

Anyone can #Commit2Ten – individuals, families, schools, afterschool programs, companies, and communities. 10 minutes doesn’t seem like much time, but a little more physical activity makes a big difference.

Join Live Well Omaha Kids and commit to an additional 10 minutes of physical activity a day! Share how you’re participating with us on Facebook and Twitter using #Commit2Ten.
