Healthy habits are learned by observation

CYRYoga Rocks the Park is a weekly chance for families to stay active during the summer months and it’s free for the community to participate. While parents join the main class, Camp Yoga Rocks the Park is offered for children. The class starts a few minutes before the main Yoga Rocks the Park class and ends a few minutes after to ensure parents can enjoy their full practice and savasana, which is the final resting pose that allows your body to relax and process all of the new information from the class.

Camp Yoga Rocks the Park is a yoga class specially designed for kids ages 3-10, taught by leading local children’s yoga instructors. The class offers structured play and movement that keeps kids engaged while teaching them ways to care for their body, mind and spirit.

This weekly event allows parents to model an active lifestyle for their children.

“Some of the most important lessons children learn about healthy habits are learned by observation of adults,” said Kwin Kunkle, yoga instructor.

Yoga Rocks the Park knows access to health and fitness resources can be limiting. Omaha prides itself in being the only city offering this event FREE to the community and welcomes all levels of yoga experience. The classes are available every Sunday between Memorial Day weekend and 4th of July weekend in Turner Park at Midtown Crossing. Registration begins at 3:30 p.m. with the class starting at 4 p.m.
