Brandon Hicks PhotoOne thing that I always make sure to do when I get up in the morning is have a well-balanced breakfast.  The truth is that not having a healthy breakfast in the morning can affect your whole day. A healthy breakfast can do many things for you, in fact studies show that young people like me who have a healthy high protein breakfast are less likely to eat unhealthy snacks later in the day. Another important fact to think about for me is how it can affect me and my peers at school. Share our Strength research tells us that on average, kids who have a good breakfast score 17.5 percent higher on math tests than kids who skip breakfast. This fact empowers me to encourage my peers to eat a healthy breakfast because I want my peers to have a good grasp on what breakfast can do for their academic standards. So overall breakfast is a big part of a person’s day and people should know that.

So the next time someone tells you to eat breakfast because it’s the most important meal of the day, I’d listen to them!
